Liz joined Health Promotion and Wellness (HPaW) in January of 2023 now serving as Assistant Director of Substance Misuse Prevention. In this role, she oversees the BASICS program, which stands for Brief Alcohol Screening Intervention for College Students. She also manages and delivers HPaW's AOD (alcohol and other drug) programs including Red Watch Band, Opioid Overdose Prevention and Naloxone Training, and Drinking Culture Close-Up. Liz's student affairs background began at UIC serving as a resident assistant and orientation leader. There she built her passion to work with college students with the hopes of bringing her public health background to help educate them to make healthier decisions with their use of substances.

Liz earned her B.A. in Public Health and Master of Public Health (MPH) with a concentration in Community Health Sciences from the University Of Illinois at Chicago. As a promoter of health and wellness, Liz uses her free time to rest and do things that bring her peace like going to the nail shop, cleaning, and hanging out with her loved ones. She also makes it a point to stop by Chipotle to get her weekly burrito bowl.  Liz also loves the sport of basketball, especially women's basketball. To say she is a fan of the growing popularity of women’s basketball is an understatement.
