Emotional Awareness and Regulation
Emotional Self-Regulation: The ability to use emotions to inform one's impressions of an experience while intentionally choosing actions to pursue healthy and effective ways forward.
Responses are given on a 1-5 point scale with the mean score for individual questions among all NU Undergrads indicated by the circled number. Demographic mean scores combine all four questions for an overall emotional self-regulation mean score.
Of Note:
- The highest mean emotional self-regulation scores (3.9) are among Latino/Hispanic students and those living in fraternity/sorority housing.
- African American/Black students report the lowest emotional self-regulation mean score (3.4)
